Specifications & care
A countertop water dispenser made entirely of copper: body, domed lid and spigot, with no lining, plating or lacquer anywhere the water touches. It holds 10 liters (2.6 US gallons, about forty 8 oz glasses), so one fill at night covers a household's drinking water for the day.
The body is hand-etched with a floral pattern in the traditional antique style, then oxidised so the pattern reads dark against the bright copper. Every piece is worked by hand, so the etching and small marks differ from one dispenser to the next.
Made for plain drinking water. Do not store juice, vinegar water, broth or other acidic or hot liquids in it; acidic contents draw more copper from the metal. Hand wash only, dry after use, and keep it out of the dishwasher. Copper darkens as it is used; a soft cloth with lemon juice and coarse salt returns it to bright in a minute, inside and out.
- Capacity: 10 L (2.6 US gal, 338 fl oz)
- Material: solid copper, unlined; oxidised floral etching
- Fitting: copper spigot, packed inside the body for shipping
- Care: hand wash only, no dishwasher
In the box: the dispenser, its lid and the copper spigot. Fit the spigot before the first fill. Ships free in the US. Every order has a 30-day in-home trial with free return shipping.
Pairs with the 1 L copper bottle and the 8 oz copper cup, which share the same engraving tradition, and with the copper tongue scraper.
Part of the Copper Collection; care steps for the whole line are on the copper-care page.
Care
Hand wash only and dry after use. Copper darkens with time, which is the metal behaving normally. Lemon juice and coarse salt on a soft cloth return it to bright.
